A really great and underevaluated song. The song that I loved so much when I heard it in 1983. I bought the LP and it was the first of Bruce. Much better than Born in the USA, for me. Unfortunately little known in Europe.

bartelby, you are completely wrong. bruce released Nebraska in 1982 as the follow-up to 1980's The River (his first #1 album). Nebraska was his second #1 album.

Nebraska is Bruce's best album. He got in trouble with his record label, Columbia Records, for insisting that they shelve the studio version of Nebraska that was already in the can and use his version that he recorded in his home studio. Coming off the success of Born to Run, Columbia agreed and Nebraska was a huge commercial flop. It's why they insisted on a double album with several hits which resulted in The River.
