as long as humanity is money hungry and in the need of money, nothing will ever change, even if we survive this crises without a big collapse. even if it sounds crazy, but the future like in star trek, a world without money, is genius. he said, we are working to get better in what we are doing and to help the human race. and nobody is suffering because everyone has sth he can do best and thats what he doing, and he gets things from other people and they are doing sth.. great idea

Ironically, I think many "Hollywood" types aren't necessarily wealthy as we might suspect. I can't remember exactly, but I think in the book, "The Millionaire Mind", actors, professional athletes, doctors, etc. account for only about 3% of millionaires. The book explains it waaay better and in more depth than I just did.)

"Actually I have a radical idea... what if we ask the uber-rich folks in the US (Hollywood anyone?) and show them this movie and clips and see if they would willingly put down at least $1 million (a drop in the bucket to some of them) to help pay down the Federal Debt?
What do you think?"
This is part of the reason America is in this hole. It's hard to believe a 24-year-old like you has no conception of basic math. Sadly, you are a typical American.

there's an australian billionaire named kerry packer (he's dead now) but at a hearing regarding tax minimization he said "Of course I minimize my tax obligation, I pay as much as I'm legally required to pay, and you lot don't spend peoples taxes well enough that we should want to donate extra"

that sounds like a dumb f'n idea, a trillion dollars is a million millions, so you would need a million millionaires to donate a million each to make no difference at all, the US government would just borrow it back again, the last budget deficit was almost half a trillion dollars.

Instead of borrowing from foreign countries that we would owe for decades, why not inspire rich Americans to help Save America, and donate to help get us out of this massive hole??
What do you think?

You mean "Who's going to lend Congress money then?". Answer: the same outfit that's been doing it for the last 100 years- the Federal Reserve.
This only proves that Congress borrows far more than we pay in income and payroll taxes. In fact, income and payroll taxes only provide Congress with the gaurenteed revenue stream it needs as collateral to borrow.
It also proves that income taxes undermind the balance of power- the ability of the people to keep the government in check.

It will leave the producers/director rich and with oscars and the movie goers with rabbit ears in their pants. |
