Hun, what this movie mocks isn't God. It's the idea of God used to impose fear and authority in people. It's very symbolic, full of metaphors. the entire script. It's the God the authorities of the 'church' used for their chauvinist means- the 'God' even Christians rebelled against. The movie draws you to a more spiritual side of life, but it's simply mocking the idea of the evil dictator we've made God out to be, especially the hypocrite believers. It's a beautiful script.

the beauty of this movie (my favorite movie of all time and Im a huge movie nut) are the dialogues. I fall for dialogues and the script rather then the effects and what not. Like in a song, lyrics are more important then music to me. but back to the movie, the beauty about this movie and this speech is that regardless of the intensity of your faith, it makes you think. and it isn't mocking 'God'.It's mocking the idea of the God represented by the authorities,the 'evil' idea of God- worship that?

Man, i am not mocking your religious believes, man. I am an agnostic but still have a great deal of respect for people who are religious. Especially ones who really apply their believes in regular life instead of just going to the church and praying and being an a****le in the rest of the time.

If you agree with that, I would suggest you read the new testament. The Ten Commandments were given to Moses for the Jews. When Jesus came, he gave everyone who followed him only two simple rules: Love God, and love your neighbour. I know even then it can be difficult, but it's only as difficult as you make it for yourself. Believe me, it's not easy for me sometimes as I'm a Christian, but the benefits are well worth it!
