I can testify to that, I attended the Environment Seminar last year at Berkeley and although most students had more knowledge than I had, I enjoyed that experience thoroughly. Nothing to worry about, on contrary - you learn much more from the people that know more than from those who know less!!
Good luck

Hey,
Thank you for your interest in our seminars! I can understand your concern and fear but you have nothing to worry about. We have a great seminar for beginners that would be great for you. Don't let the video discourage you -- the students are of all levels. The seminar you should apply for is "Exploring Liberty".
Good luck and hopefully we will see you this summer!

I'm thinking about applying but honestly I don't feel that I am as knowledgeable as the students shown were. I am by no mans stupid but They seem a a higher level than i am and that makes me afraid to even apply

hey i just applied but am from italy and am doing a major in telecommunications which is not close to politics, do you think i will get a chance coz i really want to come and participate in those lively discussions?

Hi,
Don't worry about not knowing enough. There will be people at the seminar at all levels, but most will be beginners just like you. I'd suggest applying for our "Exploring Liberty" seminar at Brown University or our "Poverty & Prosperity" seminar. If you are interested in learning more about globalization and environmentalism, I'd check out our "Liberty & Global Sustainability" seminar.
I hope you apply, the seminars are really great!

I want to know more than I do about politics. The seminars seem extremely interesting, and I love to hear other people's ideas. However, my background is far from politics. I'm a Chemistry/Secondary Education major. Would I be getting in too deep if I were to go to one of the seminars offered for undergraduates? I'm not afraid to participate in groups, but with my all but nonexistant understanding of politics would it be wiser to take some political science courses?

Hi Kaje,
You get one free day to explore the city or do what you want (rest, relax, read...etc.) So you will be able to explore ATL if that is what you are interested in.

For those of you who did the seminar in ATL, did you get a chance to actually see the city at all or were you pretty much confined to the campus? |
