Got ya right mate. Most of today's military tecnologies came from Germany and their scientist boroughts. Sadly most of them got killed in the war, but as you see most of the technology and ideas were kept.

Both US and Russia could wipe out each other. The US have the world's best missile defence but Russian could over it by launching multiple ICBMs. And US could also launch several missiles to Russia, wich don't poses an effective counter-measure, not to mention stealth bomber can penetrate Russian space close enough to launch a cruise missile armed with nukes. If both nations will go all out with nuclear war, the rest of the world will feel it. But both nations are not stupid either.

Yes, US, UK and Russia have stolen and copied German rocket design after the war, not to mention took some of the brilliant scientist with them to further accomplished their research.
