LauraRose83, it's about taxi dancing which is not prostitution. It's more like a paid companion who you sit with and buy drinks for while she sits and listens to you and dances with you. This was Bob Fosse's first motion picture production and he mentioned how difficult it was transferring his style onto the big screen. What made Fosse so revolutionary and changed musicals forever is that he slowed down the choreography and made each little motion subtle and sultry. The man was a genius.
