those who buy the i7 1366 socket are going to be pissed when they find out that intel is coming out with another socket the 1066,which is supposed to have some special link between CPU and GPU for better gaming but lacks some of the power that the 1366 socket has. since the i7 platform supports DDR3 with triple channel, and no dual channel, it means that every time you upgrade your ram, you HAVE to buy three ram modules or run the bandwidth at just one third if you use 1,2,4or5 dims. 3and6 works

so will the phenom II, which apparently will be cheaper and better in performance then the i7

You need to keep in mind that the I7 is sold out as soon as it hits the shelves all over the world. Yes, AMD is reaching and coming up with "creative ways" to measure its chips just to make it sound like it is still leading edge. Like I said before, as soon as AMD comes out with anything significant, we already have something on the shelves that will kill it. by the way, we already have a 22nm process and a working chip. your move junior!

DDR3 is fine if you want to pay $150 for 4 gbs and still have extremely minimal performance gains...

Since you're an Intel fanboy, I thought you would know that clock speed isn't everything. That being said, keep in mind that a core i7 965 is 1000 dollars. Considering that a huge majority of computer users don't even need a processor with more than 2 cores... whats the point? Furthermore, AMD is reaching and catching up to Intel. AMD will be closer at 32nm, and will catch up to Intel by the time 22nm is released.

obviously justaguy1010... intel do false advertising. amd dont

This info is dated and useless, AMD has to be overclocked just to hit 2.8Ghz. We can tweek anything to do that, even the centrino can do that speed. How about measuring the I-7 with your little toy?? Intel has plenty of Kung Fu left on the shelves just waiting to bury AMD even more. We have not only ended your existance, it is up to us if you even stay around. See yaa dork!!

Who gives a fuck?

Intel Now supports DDR3 where AMD is stuck on DDR2
