Ours is one of the more dysfunctional examples of what is called a free market system. Power and Capital has been centralized to the point that the economy can't afford for a major company to fail. This gives these companies influence to extort the government, their suppliers/subsidiaries, and take advantage of the consumer. A prime example of this is Wal-mart which as a retailer can control as much as 50% of the market for some products. If we don't watch out we will have corporate fascism.

Well, did you know Social Security is anti-capitolism? You all should have let BUSH put Social Security in the hands of the stock holders-all of you retirees and medicaid benefactors would be living off a whole $10 a month from the stock market returns now. Now THAT would be capitolism at its finest hour. Public schools too-socialism. Maybe you should shut down public schools and pay for your own private schools. Quite expensive. It would be Capitolism.

You've got that right. Capitalism looks like it's become the scapegoat. We've had "managed" (as in rigged) trade, not free trade. We don't have sound (as in a precious metal based) currency, but fiat currency. We have a central bank (the Fed) that has been the CAUSE of these booms & busts, not the protector that it claims to be & that hands control of the world's economies to the international banksters. This isn't capitalism, & capitalisms not the cause. It's corporate socialism & rackateering.
