i remember watching the original frug from sweet charity and it reminded me of austin powers.. the contrast in movements gave alot of energy to the parts of the dance it needed.. this performance built in energy and the dancers are obviously slash actors

In regards to Beyonce if it hasn't been said let me say it now: What is the difference? These well trained dancers are fans of Fosse and redid his work. Beyonce can dance and did the same. And FYI neither is an exact copy of the original. It's simply an homage. Just one is an entire play dedicated to Fosse and one is a music video.

it's a brilliant idea to re-use old choreography -- fosse certainly did from the vaudeville performers he worked with and from the dances of the time period. it's such a wonderful change of pace from all that damn hip-hop dancing. that dance form has lost all meaning to me.

I agree, Beyonces clip is obviosuly inspired (directly!) from the Rich Mans Frug. But I wonder if Beyonce had anything to do with the choreography? The woman herself isn't to blame! But it's funny how different the context that the put the dance into is. Fosse did it better for sure!

its ok for something to be inspiring to someone but copying it detail by detail is not first this now the single ladies video. shes copied jlos hair style and one of her dance moves one of her settings from ring the alarm and jlos love dont cost a thing. and also tupacs me and my girlfriend. and desree...
