plus, the frets on bass are larger, the strings are thicker etc etc bass can get pretty damn hard too

Not quite harder to learn, playing basic bass lines is easier than playing guitar but what happens when you want to play like Victor Wooten.. that's some serious skill needed, and not necesarily easier to learn ;)

it all depends to you on my opinion I prefer the electric guitar because the sound etc also it is what i play but it is more hard to learn that doesnt mean bass is easy, it also has some difficult tecniques like slapping,etc and about acoustic i like it but i is not what i play th most because my style is more electric guitar

my first bass was an epiphone viola, its best for beginners cuz its beautiful, good price, and amazing overall

That's why I said entry level. A lot of beginners wouldn't know the difference between a standard Warwick and the rockbass series.
