the attitude as displayed by this "storytimetoo" person is the exact reason that add/adhd can be so hard to deal with. If you look at language of said poster, there are obviously much worse things than adhd ;) - plus, it renders his/her arguments null and irrelevant. Great video, thanks.

@TOURSGMD: since you are at least not a profane jerk, I'll reply: my point is that the presenter treats classroom disruption as a cute story, without even addressing the possibility of "brat syndrome". If attention wanders, that does not mean that impulse-control must be absent. I never did say that *nobody* has ADHD. I said that I suspect the epidemic proportions are untrue. And yes, modern Western culture has spawned many parents (and educators) with a destructive aversion to discipline.
TOURSGMD (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
No my problem is I have ADHD, which you appear to dismiss as a result of an emotional aversion to discipline. You problem appears to be that you completely missed or ignored the points Barkley made about Haleys, video games and discipline. If you refuse to address these actual points, we can only base this discussion on generalizations.

bobbie, you've shown that you're a brainless shithead by the way you talk. I think you've got emotional problems that you should have taken care of. And try to lay off the sauce...

story you obviously have no idea wtf you are talking about. Millions have ADHD some of them being the most succesful people on this planet, i being one of the millions. I could go on and on about the fact that your a dumbass but i dont want to waste my time.
storytimetoo (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
by replying with the ridiculous mis-characterization of discipline as "the wonders of belting your children", you immediately show yourself as *clearly* unable to think rationally. If you have some apparent emotional need to believe in ADHD as an epidemic, and some emotional aversion to discipline, that's your problem.
TOURSGMD (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
1. Clearly not. This was not a lecture on the wonders of belting your children, rather on a neurological disorder. 2. The misconception about video games were clearly addressed and dismissed.
