I'd like to think that the "thud" at the end is actually the Kiwi bouncing off a trampoline and landing in a tree, safely.
This is beautiful but very sad yet contains the powerful message of devoting your entire life to a dream and having the courage to die for it. Beautifully rendered, extreme talent, sublime.
