Before starting the Asanas (as-anas) or the yogic postures, it is vital that you start with the practice of Pranayama (praa-na-yaa-ma) or the yogic breathing exercises. And what is Yogic Breathing (Pranayama) Pranayama is loosely translated as prana (pra-aana) or breathe control. Breathing affects our state of mind. It can make us excited or calm, tense or relaxed. It can make our thinking confused or clear. In the ancient yogic tradition, air is the primary source of life force, a psycho-physio-spiritual force that permeates the universe. Yogic breathing is used in yoga as a separate practice to help clear and cleanse the body and mind. It oxygenates the lungs by getting rid of enormous quantity of carbon dioxide and other toxic gases. It is also used in preparation for asana, the practice of yogic postures and meditation, to help maximize the benefits of the practice, and focus the mind. Kleinbottle. I do mean this in a respectful way. I feel a lot of negative energy in your criticism. I find that a yogi does not have this same negative energy. I wonder how one possess, being a long time practitioner and seemingly knowledgeable student of Yoga. Yoga is about peace withing the body mind and soul as one. Negativity denotes such processes of obtaining this unity. I feel to much of negative criticism. Peace to you all! Shanti.

Just as simple as this video. Breathing is the essence of life and it cleanses you both physically and mentally. There is no questions that it filters your body of toxins ect. Also filtering your mind of spiritual toxins essentially. Thus, all you do is breathe and relax.Clear the mind. Do not analyze and over think. It is self defeating. It is contradicting the whole purpose.Remember the key is simplicity. The way...is no way. Un-complicate life. Shanti Shanti to all of you!

Not true darling. All you have to do is really get into it. I have never smoked anything or done any drugs and when I meditate or do the deep breathing I feel like I am above the clouds. I don't lose awareness of where I am as if I am not on earth. This happens with many months of practice.

Yes you can float!....... But you're gonna have ta smoke quite a bit of cannabis before you start mediating though...

Check out Bjorn Nordenstrom, Robert O. Becker, Louis Kervran, Jacques Benveniste, Charles G. Abbot, Irving Langmuir, Dayton Miller, Halton Arp, Hannes Alfven, Frank Brown, Giorgio Piccardi, Wilhelm Reich, and James DeMeo. It is important to keep an attitude of a philosophical skeptic(aka zetetic), when researching topics that are not taught by mainstream institutions. Listening to the "experts" can be problematic, because most of them suffer from idolatry, and don't practice pragmatism.

You can acquire all kinds of psychosomatic disorders, which could result in physical pain, depression, anxiety, sensitivity to sense perceptions, etc. It's easy to avoid it. Just make sure you are not slouching while you meditate. And, I also suggest you learn self hypnosis, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Acupressure, and Emotional Freedom Techniques. These tools are better for treating psychosomatic disorders, if they ever pop up. A medical doctor won't be able to help you with that.

Did you find any information about how this works. Supposedly, during a 90 minutes cycle, the dominant hemisphere of the brain shifts from left to right and back. When it does, it becomes easier to breathe through the corresponding nostril. So if one turbinate was reduced, could it mess up a balance of some sort? Did you mean that he touched them, or removed them. Hmm, interesting.
