Sorry, my joke about Mike4ty4's ancestors and gold palaces went too far. The Welsh rebelled again tax collectors by forgetting how to write. Welsh also used the names of 7 forefathers, which infuriated tax collectors. Welsh names were changed to English names such as "Robertson". Rebellious Welsh wrote that as "Roberts", dropping the "on". That's why so many Welsh names end with "s". - I read much written Celtic history in Brittany (Gaul) including a wonderful story about the origin of my name.

That's not true at all. There are lots of Celtic writings from Gaul and Northern Italy. They even had their own alphabets, Lepotnic among the Gaulish tribes in Italy and Ogam among the Gaels in Ireland, Scotland and Wales. They also used the Latin and Greek alphabets to write in their own languages. The OLDEST recorded stories and histories in Europe written by the people themselves, after the Greeks and the Romans, are the Irish and the British.

It is said that Celts once lived thoughout most of Europe. Some say they taught the Egyptians to move stone. I Don't know much about that (Celts did not keep written history). British Isle Celts sailed from Portugal/Northern Spain (Gallicia) to Britain, then spread out to the other tribes you mention. The British Celts were driven into Wales (Welch) and Brittany France (Bretons) by the Angle and Saxon tribes from Germany. Their land was renamed England. Wales means "foreigners" in Anglo Saxon.

Celtic history is mixed with lots of legend because Celts wouldn't learn to read and write, so the history was passed down in stories. Story tellers embellished the history with magic and fantasy to keep the children awake and interested. Why did Celts refuse to teach the children to read and write? Because mike4ty4 ancestors would make them write their names on the tax roles, so they could rob them blind to pay for wondrous palaces of marble and gold.

Oh,its sad that galician celticity is full of doubts nowadays...it is mixed with lots of legends and many people think of it as a nationalist creation. im sure there was a BBC documentary about the celts in Galicia, but cant find, only in Wikipedia, lol! Enya is simply music for your soul.Recommend you "Luar na Lubre" a galician folk group very very nice...Greetings to next time, mates

"Fool. Cultural jealousy? My culture predates the celts. My people were the birthplace & epitome of civilisation, constructing wondrous palaces of marble and gold when the celts were sheltering in caves and mud huts."
What place is this? Mesopotamia? As that's the earliest known civilization.
