I know. But it could be just me. I've always looked to for indiviual, unique artist not only in Japan, but around the world. And I agree with you, there are tons of american indie artists but what confuses the hell out of me is that how come the record labels don't try to find the indie artist and sign them up. and it could be just prospective, but to be an true artist, you have to be dragged through the mud and doors slammed in your face.

you know, to be fair, there are a lot of JAPANESE artists that are just as tween-y and popp-y as Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers. There are tons of them, and there are American Indie singers that are pretty good. But I know what you mean.
FinalOathMaster (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I know exactly what you mean, even though I was born and raised here. The imagery in this video is astounding, the songtress' voice is powerful and blows you away, and the orchestra presence leaves a rough, wailing, dull pain in your heart reminding you of something or someone precious that you lost in the past. If there were more songs like this that weren't poppy didn't cater to the tween scene and actually conveyed a message, the world would less screwed up.

I completely agree, 200%. I guess it's because we like to follow each other's examples, completely forgetting that each one of us are unique, or we're very lazy. Well, I don't want to consider myself as an American..
FinalOathMaster (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I want to know the answer to this question. How come most American artists don't put as much passion in their music. This PV didn't have the artist in it, the music video had a story to tell, and that is what it did. But it was a beautiful, tragic story.I wish that artists around the world like Shiina Ringo and Saito Neko would be more widely recognized than the tween music bullshit like Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, and High School Musical that we have gotten acustomed to.

... bad quality? It still amazes. Imagine if it were HQ.
Kylecito (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I agree, in some of her songs she really knows how to put that emotional stress into the singing that gives you chills in the back!
danderlyon (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
