Why go through all the trouble? I dropped my DirecTV subscription 18 months ago and don't miss it at all. Newt Minnow, chairman of the FCC, called television a "vast wasteland" in 1961. It hasn't gotten any better since then.

Also this dude learned all this because he worked for the us army and they trained him on sim card encryption thats how he knows all that..Now he is a free lance and owns his owns buissness..

Well its and overly simplified version,the chip he was demonstrating on was alot easier to hack Newer chips have more check balances so when their being listened to will ff out.He also hacked a certain company back in the day, and soon after was hired by for 6 figures how do you think he got all that equipment.And all you need is to hack one chip to see "how it works" and then you can design hardware and software around the weaknesses and easily get into them with just a modified sim programmer

these boxs are HIGHLY dangerous and use IKS. if the server is busted, so will you!
and nobody does this to save a monthly bill to sat providers, they do it to make millions by squeeling on how it works to companies who make devices that allow free service to a subsciption.
