I wish people who don't know about this disease would stay quiet. When you have Cushing's NO MATTER what you DO or EAT will make you stop gaining or lose weight...if you haven't been through it, you have no idea!

I'm not doubting the legitimacy of the syndrome in this video. What I am skeptical of is the statement that a person with this syndrome (like the woman in the video) can be on a 1300 calorie/day diet, with regular exercise (claimed by the doctor) and become as obese as the woman in the video.

Seriously I don't think YOUTUBER's can help you, you need to go to your doctor.

Sorry but,
you're here sitting on a chiar using the computer,
so are we all.
Why don't you challenge Dr. Theodore Friedman who is an Endocrinologist?
Go back to your job at Wal-Mart, idiot.

You have to actually go to an endocrine specialist and get a diagnosis. You can't self-diagnose like that, because Cushings is incredibly rare and it could very easily be something else. In fact, it probably IS something else. Just get checked out so you know and the doctor will tell you how to proceed.

"Obesity can occur no matter how much you eat and work out". What?! That is about as scientific as the earth was made 6000 years ago. It's impossible for the body to store more calories than it burns and gland problem or not there is a minimum number of calories the body burns over a given time. I challenge anyone to point to me an example of someone on a 2200 cal/day diet who exercises regularly that is obese. I will send you money in the mail if you can submit scientific evidence of this.

Being a boy who had Cushing's was rare enough, but having it 3 times makes it even more so. I believe that diseases like this are deathly serious but also 1 in a 100,000. So if someone suspects an endocrinological disorder of any sort get it checked out. Back in '95 no endocrinologist in my area had even seen a case of Cushing's. Thanks to the internet, I trust most are informed today.

I had Cushing's when I was 5 years old. I gained enormous amounts of weight in 6 months, and to this day I remember the pain of being made fun of and ganged up on. I had Cushing's again when I was 12 and it stunted my growth. And this past summer I had a third surgery for the resurgence of the pituitary tumor. Surgery wasn't enough so I had stereotactic radiation at Stanford University.

Hah is this comment thread about Cushing's disease or a barrage of petty comments on the ethics of obesity in America? |
